地点介绍

The capital of Chile's Chiloe Island, Castro is known for its palafitos, colourful wooden huts on stilts over the waterfront, and the island's UNESCO World Heritage Site wooden churches, 16 of which are individually classified. Chile's third oldest city, founded in 1576, Castro was destroyed in 1837 and again in 1960 by earthquakes, tsunamis, and fires. The Regional Museum of Castro houses Huilliche relics and photographs of the city before the 1960 disaster.
